Anti-IPOB Protesters Take Case To American Embassy (Photos)

Members of Stand Up for Peace Movement have gone on a protest in Abuja on Thursday, in reaction to America’s stand that IPOB is not a terrorist organization.
Some members of anti-Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group, on Thursday, staged a protest in Abuja in reaction to United States of America’s stand that it did not regard the secessionist agitator group, as a terrorist organisation.
According to exclusive photos shared online by Punch newspaper, some of the posters the protesters who are members of Stand Up for Peace Movement carried, read; “No to IPOB,” “No to IPOB and affiliate organisations,” etc.
They took their grievances to the American Embassy in Abuja, as captured in some photographs by Olatunji Obasa.

Nurse shark sinks its teeth into the stomach of a man and refuses to let go (video)






A Florida man was bitten by a nurse shack and had to struggle for a long moment with the help of friends to set himself free from the animal's jaws.
The incident was caught on video. In the footage captured on September 2 off the coast of Marathon city, Ervin Maccarty is seen stepping onto his boat and calling to his friends for help as a nurse shark hangs off his abdomen.

Although Crystal is believed to have never been added to Hef's will, she'll apparently be 'looked after' following his death from natural causes.

Carlo Ancelotti Sacked As Bayern Munich Manager


Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked as manager of Bayern Munich. Following Wednesday's 3-0 Champions League defeat by Paris St-Germain, the club's board has decided to dismiss the Italian, who replaced Pep Guardiola at the start of last season.

Ancelotti, 58, helped Bayern win the Bundesliga last term, but they only reached the last eight of the Champions League and the German Cup semi-finals.

Assistant boss Willy Sagnol will take temporary charge.

FG Approves Immediate Retirement Of NAFDAC DG


The Nigerian government has approved the retirement of the acting director general of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Yetunde Oni.

The directive for Mrs. Oni’s ‘immediate retirement’ was granted by the R.P. Ugo, a Permanent Secretary in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The directive, dated September 28, was in response to a letter written to the SGF by Mrs. Oni over the worker’s unrest in the regulatory agency.

NAFDAC workers commenced an indefinite strike last week demanding among others the immediate removal of Mrs. Oni, whom they said was already due for retirement.

Manchester Arena bomber named as British Libyan jihadist, Salman Abedi

The suicide bomber responsible for last night's terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena has been identified and named as Salman Abedi. The 22-year-old detonated a bomb just towards the end of Ariana Grande's concert, leading to the death of 22 people with many others injured.

Abedi's identity was revealed after teams of armed cops swooped on his address in Fallowfield, Manchester. Theresa May had earlier stated that the attacker was known to the authorities prior to the attack and that security services were working to establish if he was acting alone or as part of a terror cell. The police have already arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the attack as investigation continues.

Ibe Kachikwu vows to resign if Nigeria continues to import fuel come 2019


Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, has vowed to resign if Nigeria continues to import fuel by 2019. He made this statement on Monday, during an interview on BBC World Service programme, HardTalk, hosted by Stephen Sackur.
Mr. Kachikwu promised to see to it that the refineries were completed to ensure that there is a future for oil in Nigeria.

US President, Donald Trump has condemned the "evil losers" who carried out the Manchester attack last night. During a joint appearance with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas this morning, Trump said,
 'I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack, and to the many killed and the families, so many families, of the victims.
So many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives, murdered by evil losers in life. I won't call them monsters, because they would like that term, they would think that's a great name. I will call them, from now on, losers, because that's what they are."

James Bond actor, Sir Roger Moore dies at 89

Legendary James Bond actor, Sir Roger Moore has died at the age of 89,  his family has announced.

In a statement posted on the British actor's official social media accounts, it was revealed that Moore passed away today in Switzerland after a "short but brave battle with cancer".

For the first time in a decade UK raises its terror threat level to the highest


Shortly after UK police identified 22-year-old Salman Abedi as the suspected suicide bomber who detonated bombs on Monday evening at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester which killed 22 people, Prime Minister Theresa May announced that the UK has raised its threat level to "critical".
This is the highest level for the first time in a decade. The last occasions were in August 2006 and June 2007. Both times, the assessment was lowered after a few days.

The Labour Party (LP) has said that Boko Haram members never kidnapped the 300 Chibok schoolgirls and that the APC concocted the story just to dent  the image of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. The party in a statement released Tuesday which was signed by its national chairman,  Abdulkadir Abdulsalami, the party said the recent release of 82 Chibok school girls is a fluke and that APC should expect the wrath of God for manipulating parents of the Chibok girls. The motion titled: "Urgent need to investigate the alarming rate of Rape and Sexual Assault against Women, Children and Vulnerable people across the country" was introduced by Deputy Majority Leader, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah (Kebbi South).

FBI investigator claims Osama bin Laden's son has vowed revenge on the west for killing his father


A former FBI agent, Ali Soufan, claims that Osama bin Laden's son, Hamza - since designated a global terrorist and added to the US counter-terrorism blacklist, has vowed revenge on the west for killing his father and is set to become the next leader of al-Qaeda.
Soufan, who was the FBI's lead investigator of al-Qaeda after the 9/11 terror attacks, reportedly examined documents seized from Osama's Pakistan compound when he was killed by US Navy Seals in 2011.

Woman sold to Nigerian men in South Africa speaks of her ordeal


In 2010, Valerie Madondo (second from left) from Zimbabwe crossed the South African border in search of employment. She hoped to earn enough to provide for her infant boys. But her journey took a harrowing turn for the worse after she was sold to Nigerian men by South African women in Rosettenville. 

Valerie, now 29, was held captive by these men for six years. Speaking to the CHRONICLE, Valerie shares how she was trafficked in 2010, drugged, abused, sold as a prostitute, locked up, held hostage and raped countless times. 

“I came here looking for a job and worked in Pretoria for a while. I trusted some women who said they had a job interview for me. Little did I know that I was being sold to Nigerians for money,” said Valerie.

'Agents OF S.H.I.E.L.D' star Powers Boothe dies at 68


Award-winning American Actor,  Powers Boothe, known for his remarkable roles in 'Sin City,' 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,' and 'Deadwood,' has died at the age of 68. According to his publicist, Karen Samfilippo, she said the actor passed away Sunday of natural causes in his sleep at his Los Angeles home. 
His family will hold a private service in Texas and they're also considering a memorial celebration.

Brad Grey the former CEO of Paramount pictures has died at the age of 59. His death, from cancer, comes months after his exit as CEO of Paramount Pictures, a job he held for 12 years. Brad died on Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Holmby Hills, California with friends and family at his side. 
Grey is survived by his wife, Cassandra Grey, their son Jules, his three grown children Sam, Max and Emily from his marriage to Jill (nee Gutterson) Grey, his mother Barbara Schumsky, his brother Michael Grey and his sister Robin Grey.

Officers of the Malaysian customs Service in Kuala Lumpur foiled an attempt to smuggle hundreds of the world's most endangered tortoises into the country from Madagascar, a senior official said Monday.
Speaking to AFP, the deputy director of the customs department, Abdul Wahid Sulong, said the 330 ploughshare and radiated tortoises worth around $276,784, were seized at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Sunday.
